Founded in 1996, Cottrell Brewing Company is a family owned Connecticut brewery, whose ancestors date back to the earliest settlers of the area (well, more like Westerly, RI, but close enough to Pawcatuck, CT!). It’s no coincidence that the first beer brewed by Cottrell Brewing Company was called “Old Yankee” considering the settling of the lands (or current day towns) around the brewery.
The following are a few of the beers that Cottrell Brewing Company either has on tap at their brewery, sold in retail stores, on tap at other establishments, or has brewed before at some point in time.
- Old Yankee Ale
- Mystic Bridge IPA
- Summer Ale
- Perry’s Revenge Ale
“Cottrell Brewing Company is named after an early settler named Nicholas Cottrell who with a group of other settlers, purchased land from the native Narragansett Indians which would eventually become known as the town of Westerly, Rhode Island.”
